Frequently Asked Questions about Restorative Dentistry

You may need restorative care if you have broken, cracked, or decayed teeth, missing teeth, difficulty chewing, or pain while eating. Your Long Beach dentist can evaluate your oral health and recommend the best restorative options tailored to your needs.

Common restorative treatments include:

  • Dental Fillings – To repair cavities or minor tooth damage.

  • Dental Crowns – To restore the shape, size, and strength of damaged teeth.

  • Bridges – To replace one or more missing teeth.

  • Dentures – Full or partial removable teeth replacements.

  • Dental Implants – Permanent tooth replacements for missing teeth.

Most restorative procedures are performed under local anesthesia, ensuring minimal discomfort. Modern techniques in Long Beach dental offices prioritize patient comfort, and any post-procedure soreness is typically mild and temporary.

Longevity depends on the type of treatment and your oral care habits. Dental fillings can last 5–10 years, crowns 10–15 years, and dental implants often last decades with proper maintenance. Routine check-ups in Long Beach help extend the life of restorative treatments.

Absolutely! Restorative dentistry not only restores function but can also enhance the appearance of your teeth. Treatments like crowns, bridges, and implants are designed to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth for a beautiful, confident smile.
